Thank you for your interest in joining us! We understand that you might have some questions about the event details. Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions to help you prepare for the celebration. If you have any other questions that are not covered here, please feel free to contact us directly. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with you!
What would you like as a gift?
We are truly grateful for your presence, which is the greatest gift of all. However, if you wish to contribute in some other way, you can help out on the day, and we will place a piggy bank, to finance our home renovation project.
How do I get to the venue?
The venue is located at Rodenbach Wingerte in the forest. For those driving, parking is available on site and if you don’t want to risk driving through all the potholes you can park at the entrance of the forest. It is a 1.4 km walk uphill from there, we try to pick you up if needed, just let us know beforehand to arrange a “shuttle”.
If you’re using public transport, please let us know. Rodenbach has a train station but Hanau Main Station (Hanau Hbf) has better connections and is not much further away. Please contact us with your train details and we try to figure out how to get you to the venue. 😉 Detailed directions will be provided closer to the event date on a separate page.
Can I camp at the venue?
Yes, camping is possible just 2 minutes from the party we have space for you free of charge for those who prefer an adventurous overnight stay! Please let us know in advance if you plan to camp, so we can ensure enough space for everyone and get enough water on the camping site. Don’t forget to bring your camping gear!
What is the dress code?
No dress code at all, be comfortable. Robust shoes are not a bad idea, this is a construction site in the forest after all. So it can be dirty and depending on the weather a little bit muddy. Keep in mind it can become cold at night and we are outside so bring some warm clothes.
Are there parking facilities at the venue?
Yes, we have space for three or four cars and for those camping is enough space on the camping site. Once the parking spots are taken you might need to walk a bit further. Please respect the guys living up there and do not park in front of their doors or garages! Again this is not a paved road with a lot of potholes. So you can park down near the main road if you are scared and call for help (or take a walk in the dark forest).
Are children welcome at the celebration?
Yes, you can bring your children, but maybe bring also some entertainment for them. The camping site is two minutes away and has plenty of space they can play games like football, frisbee etc. safely. On the construction site we do our best to make everything safe, but no guaranties. 😉
Will there be food and drinks?
Of course! If you have special wishes or allergies please let us know and we do our best to ignore it. 🙂
We will have an open bar and food will be provided by a local butcher, but we will have some vegan options.
If you want to bring something, please let us know so we have enough space for the food.
How can guests contribute to the planning or activities?
If you want to help, you are welcome to do so, on the day we might need to arrange tables and a tent (depending on the weather) etc.
What should guests bring?
– Robust shoes you don’t mind getting dirty
– For people with children, also some entertainment
-You can help with some Food like salad, dessert or cake
Is there a schedule or program for the event?
No, just have fun. Of course, we will manage to show the football games.
